WebPorthpean is a sheltered beach between two headlands, facing southeast away from the prevailing westerly winds. The upper part of the beach is coarse white sand against the sea wall. As the tide goes out, a rock platform with rockpools is revealed on the right-hand side of the beach. The left-hand side remains sandy at low tide. WebHeadlands is short walk from the sandy coves of Porthpean and Duporth where dinghy sailors and kayakers launch. This postcard-perfect stretch of coastline along the south coast is the gateway to The Roseland Peninsula leading down towards St Mawes.
